A one-day visit needs one compact area; extra days can add the Han River, southern Seoul and a nearby day trip.
One day: choose one central story
Build around a palace and Jongno, or around central Seoul and Namsan. A one-day route cannot represent the whole city.
Two to three days: add contrasting districts
Keep one historic day, then add a riverside or central day and one modern neighborhood such as Hongdae or Gangnam.
Four to five days: slow down or add a nearby trip
Use the extra time for museums, markets, a longer neighborhood walk or one nearby destination. Do not fill every hour with a cross-city transfer.
Use stations and current conditions
Plan by subway exits and walking clusters. Check Seoul weather and a relevant live view only when they help decide an outdoor stop.
Before you act
- Give each day one geographic anchor.
- Check closed days for priority venues.
- Limit cross-river transfers in the same day.

Seoul Itinerary: 1 to 5 Days FAQ
How many days does Seoul need?
Three to five days gives a first visitor more variety without forcing every district into one route.
Should I follow the same route in bad weather?
Keep the district but swap exposed stops for nearby indoor ones where possible.
