Temperature alone does not describe wind, rain, humidity or mountain visibility.
Observation, forecast and seasonal average are different
An observation reports recent measured conditions, a short-range forecast estimates coming conditions, and a seasonal average describes past patterns. Do not treat them as interchangeable.
Read beyond the temperature icon
Precipitation, wind and humidity may change a plan more than the displayed temperature. Mountain visibility and coastal exposure require location-specific checks.
Match the forecast to the decision
Use rain timing for outdoor walks, wind for coasts and exposed viewpoints, and official warnings for safety. Recheck on the morning of a weather-sensitive activity.
How live cameras help—and do not
A relevant camera can show the visible sky or surface at one place and time. It cannot prove citywide weather, predict later conditions or replace an official alert.
Before you act
- Check the city and observation time.
- Read precipitation and wind as well as temperature.
- Use official alerts for safety decisions.
- Treat a camera as one-location context only.

Why does the page differ from what I feel outside?
The observation site, update time, wind, sun and local exposure can differ from your exact location.
Can a long-range icon plan a whole trip?
No. Use it for broad context and update decisions with shorter-range information.
