Day one can focus on Jongno, day two on central and riverside Seoul, and day three on a chosen modern district.
Day 1: historic Jongno
Group a royal palace, Bukchon or nearby historic streets, Insadong and Gwangjang Market according to opening days and walking tolerance. These areas share a practical central cluster.
Day 2: central Seoul and the river
Use Myeongdong or Namsan as the central anchor, then choose one Han River area rather than crossing between several riverside districts. Check wind before committing to a long evening outdoors.
Day 3: choose one modern district
Pick Hongdae for youth culture, Gangnam and COEX for southern Seoul, or another neighborhood matching your interests. Avoid combining opposite sides of the city simply because both are famous.
Adjust without rebuilding the itinerary
Move an indoor market, museum or COEX block into poor weather and retain the same district structure. Use the subway guide to check exits and transfer load.
Before you act
- Check palace and museum closing days.
- Choose only one major district for day three.
- Review subway exits before each cluster.

3 Days in Seoul: First-Time Itinerary FAQ
Can I add a day trip?
In three days, a day trip removes a large share of Seoul time. Add one only if it is a clear priority.
Where should I stay?
Choose a rail-connected area that reduces travel to the districts you selected, not a universally recommended neighborhood.
